Canada Games

We held the Canada Winter Games hear in Whitehorse. It was the biggest event that this community has ever held and it went very successfully. Unfortunately I was sick so never got to go out and see much of it. This is my friend's daughter Jessa in front of one of the many beautiful snow sculptures that were done for the games.
Here is a close up of the Raven our territorial bird. It is also one of the main moieties of the Yukon First Nations. They are all divided into either wolf of crow clans. The clan system is a very complex and rich system that governed the way they lived and still dose in many ways.
Hear is my god daughter Teneesha. She was the goalie on the Yukon Women's hockey team. Even though they got there butts kicked, it was great to watch her play.

Making a great save, Teneesha the Wall Merkel! I was really proud of her great attitude. She was really getting pummeled with pucks. Not an easy job to be a goalie, yet she remained positive and really enjoyed herself at the games.
